The 1971 Volunteer 500 was a Winston Cup (now Nextel Cup) event held at Bristol Motor Speedway on July 11, 1971. Charlie Glotzbach made his final career win memorable, leading 411 of 500 laps in route to a three-lap spanking on Bobby Allison and the rest of the field. Eventual season champ Richard Petty came home with a 3rd place showing. Stats
