Kanda Jiak was an Iconian, living before the fall of the Iconian Empire. Kanda Jiak was the last Iconian to hold the ko N'ya, the Devil's Heart artifact. As he escaped the destruction of the planet Iconia, he stepped througn an Iconian gateway that was unexpectedly rerouted, leaving him to die in a desert on Vulcan. (TNG novel: Devil's Heart)
