"The Forgotten Captives" is a short story by Akril, which takes place shortly after the end of King's Quest II. It explores one possible answer to what became of Valanice's parents, Prince Cedric and Coignice, as well as an attempt to explain some of the bizarre goings-on in Kolyma at the time of Graham's visit.
