The Northeast Generals are a USA Hockey-sanctioned ice hockey team from Attleboro, Massachusetts. The team was added as an expansion team in the North American Hockey League on April 1, 2016 to begin play with the 2016-17 season. The team is scheduled to play out of the New England Sports Village in Attleboro, Massachusetts. In the announcement of the the team it was stated that the team was planning on playing some of its' games at Walter Brown Arena on the campus of Boston University and Matthews Arena on the campus of Northeastern University both in Boston (according to the league schedule the Boston games are unlikely for 2016-17). Due to ongoing construction at the new facility the team started its season at the Canton Sportsplex.
