The Day of the Silenti (Day of the Dead) is an Edwinish holiday celebrated around the same time as the real-world holiday known as Halloween, being October the 31st, and treated in a similar manner. It is considered a time when the living realm overlaps with that of the dead, and the deceased come back to life to cause havoc such as illness or damaging crops. Traditionally, festivals held on this day would consist of people wearing costumes and masks in an attempt to mimic or placate the malicious spirits. In modern times, the significance of the holiday has dwindled, and it is now considered a time for children to dress up as spooks to collect candy from complete strangers. It has always been seen as a day for tricks and other mischievous deeds.
