The Heimdal System Patrol Fighter was a common and cheap starfighter in use by the Black Star Confederacy. The Heimdal Fighter was a light fighter that was employed by the Confederated Navy to assist in the patrol and defence of the member systems. Sporting 3 laser cannons and relatively strong shields and hull, the Heimdal's main weakness lay in its lack of a hyperdrive. Several thousand of these fighter-craft were employed throughout the Confederacy. In 17 ABY, it was updated to SDF-1B configuration, complete with antimatter reactor and BioComp.
