The black torc is an artifact amulet in ADOM. It grants bad luck as per the cursed intrinsic, resistance to fire, cold, shock, and gives a +10 speed bonus. It is also a halfway decent thrown weapon, dealing okay damage and returning after being thrown, and being an undead slayer. Its most annoying property is the fact that it immediately curses itself when equipped on the neck slot, which means it must be uncursed or blessed it again to take it off and use other amulets.
