Fire vortex is a type of vortex in ADOM. They have no attacks besides exploding in a ball of flame once they reach melee range with the PC. They tend to show up earlier in the game than other vortices, and tend to pose a serious threat to weak and/or unprepared PCs. Like most creatures of fire they are immune to heat, but highly vulnerable to cold spells; a spell or wand of cold is definitely very helpful for taking these out risk free. Like all vortices, the message "You hear a distant wind" will be displayed on any level where a Fire vortex is present.
