The galaxy which contained the Galactic Republic and later Palpatine's Galactic Empire, the New Republic, the post-Palpatine Imperial Remnant, and the post-New Republic Galactic Alliance has gone by a variety of names. The official name of the galaxy under both republics, the Imperial government under Palpatine, and the Galactic Alliance was Galactic Prime. An alternate name, especially popular with both Jedi and Sith for the galaxy of Galactic Prime was the Way of the Force Galactic Spiral, or Force Spiral for short.
