B'nai candles are candles used in Bajoran temples. They give off a peppermint/cinnamon type of smell. In an alternate 2400, Benjamin Sisko believed he could smell the B'nai candles used in the temple of the Kai when he pictured Bajor in his mind. (DS9 novel: The War of the Prophets)
