The Rt. Hon. Tim Stamper, MP was Francis Urquhart's loyal supporter in the original (UK) House of Cards. In the first series he was a junior whip to Francis but was promoted to Chief Government Whip after Francis became Prime Minister. Relations between the two soured after Francis hired a new aide and the two became close, isolating Stamper. Francis made Stamper Chairman of the Conservative Party in the second series, but later it was revealed that Stamper aspired to succeed Francis as Prime Minister, and would stab him in the back to do it. Stamper was on his way to deliver a tape containing evidence of Francis' involvement in the deaths of Conservative party staffer Roger O'Neill and journalist Mattie Storin when he was killed in the explosion of a car bomb ordered by Francis.
