The Kaien I is first mentioned in Chapter 200 by Mack of Team Magma and debuts in Chapter 201. The Kaien I is designed by Captain Stern and built by him and his crew, including Tuga, the construction advisor. Team Magma wants the Kaien I because they want to reach the Seafloor Cavern, where Groudon is. Ruby lures Mack onto the Kaien I, where he defeats Mack.
