A gifted young Starfleet officer, Aliza Delmont was given command of the Centaur-class light cruiser USS Sapphire in 2408 despite her being only a mere Lieutenant at the time. While Starfleet Command had no doubt that Delmont was capable enough to command her own starship, she herself doubted her abilities. This nearly resulted in disaster when her ship was attacked by Cardassian True Way forces outside the Hydarian Nebula. However, The Sapphire's distress calls were answered by the USS Tenebrae, a Noble-class assault cruiser captained by Captain Lucas Felson, a fellow officer she had met at Quark's only weeks earlier.
