Traditional and french in origin, the name "Fay" is associated with the words "elf" or "fairy". Her physical demeanor is a reference to this, as she retains very elvish attributes; such as her pointed ears and impish facial structure. "Fay" can also be short for "faith", which is coincidental as Faylinn possesses an unyielding will. "Fabio", "Fai" and "Fauve" are other forms similar to "Fay", but their meanings hold no connection to Faylinn's characteristics and are therefore null.
