Corrupted Jade Sliver was a method of protecting the Taint. Just as jade drew away the dark energies of the Shadowlands, so did slivers of corrupted jade drew away the powers of purity. A corrupted jade sliver granted protection against jade damage, being consumed after they had reduced the damage.
