Brought to Naboo by colonist led by the former Queen of Gritzmalt initially the Royal house was for the queen and her subsequent family. Once elevated to royal house status a that persons last name or family that has royal status is one you belong to unless you are Queen then because of having to take Royal Names the Royal name will become last name ie Padme Neberrie became Padme Amidala, Jasmine Carde' became Jasmine Avondale.
