Society Five was a gay rights organization formed in Melbourne, Australia, in January 1971, as the local branch of the national Campaign Against Moral Persecution network. The name referred to the believed percentage of the population who were homosexual. It was a 'closeted' organisation, in that its membership lists were kept confidential. For a decade it campaigned on behalf of Melbourne's gay community, as well as offering a telephone counseling service. By 1977 it was matched in strength by the Homosexual Law Reform Coalition. By 1981 it had disbanded, following internal conflicts.
