Because of its usage in underwater combat, a Raet Longsword effectively halves the penalties suffered due to underwater fighting when wielded by a character without the Aquatic Mastery ability. For a character with the Aquatic Mastery ability, it bestows a +1 bonus to both attack and damage rolls when underwater. Also, Raets are familiar with it and may treat it as a martial weapon.
