SplashToons is a series of theatrical cartoons produced by MGM (from 1951 to 19 64), Paramount (from 1965 to 2000), and 20th Century Fox (from 2001 to present). The series follows the adventures of Splash, a cat, and his friends. The series went on hiatus in mid-2007, but returned in early 2008 due to the length of the cartoons changing from 6 minutes and 50 seconds to 7 minutes and 55 seconds. The cartoons were aired in syndication on local TV stations from 1975 to 1989, CBS from 1965 to 1975 (Weeknights) and 1981 to 2002 (Saturday morning), and Cartoon Network from 1992 to 2007.
