Anja Donlan is Kat's mother, and is married to Donald Donlan. They met at school at the court, and are both now science teachers. Anja also has etheric abilities in addition to scientific knowledge. She is of Romani descent and has a very slight accent where she sometimes forgets words such as "it" before "is". Anja was also close friends with Surma Stibnite (later Surma Carver), the mother of Antimony Carver, who is one of Anja's students, as well as best friends with her daughter Kat.
