A bio-dome first appeared in "The Mandalore Plot," the twelfth episode of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' second season. It was first provided that designation in Ultimate Star Wars, a reference book co-written by Patricia Barr, Adam Bray, Daniel Wallace, and Ryder Windham that was released on April 28, 2015.
