The special was notable for showing extensive behind-the-scenes footage which was shot on set during the production of "All Good Things..." and Star Trek Generations. Herman Zimmerman gave a guided tour of lit Star Trek sets, focusing on the USS Enterprise's stellar cartography lab, warp core, main bridge, and sickbay sets. Sets aboard the Klingon Bird-of-Prey were also shown. Clips from earlier Star Trek films and episodes were interwoven with archival behind-the-scenes footage from earlier productions. A portion of the show was also focused on fandom and the Star Trek phenomenon.
