The New Republic military appropriations bill was an amendment that passed from the New Republic Defense Council to the New Republic Senate sometime in 28 ABY, during the Yuuzhan Vong's invasion of the galaxy. One of its resolutions was that the New Republic would purchase more than a thousand YVH 1 battle droids from Tendrando Arms, a company owned by former smuggler Lando Calrissian.
