The X Search System is an ability searcher Sumio Mondo's Catherine device possesses in the video game Flower, Sun, and Rain: Murder and Mystery in Paradise. By pressing the X Button, Mondo may scan his immediate surroundings for any Lost and Found items that may be nearby. The X Search System does not open until Mondo takes 1000 steps on Lospass Island, and when it does it may only be used a limited number of times before it must recharge. This limit can be increased by taking 5000 steps, and again by taking 10,000 steps, after which it increases at each 10,000 interval until 40,000. If Mondo takes 100,000 steps, the X Search System becomes available for unlimited use, without ever needing to recharge.
