Ahrodie is Herald Dirk's Companion, a mare. She Chose him when he was eleven, picking him out in the middle of a marketplace on Fair Day (even though Dirk tried to point the Companion's attention to his sister, believing that he himself was too homely to become a Herald.) She is generally regarded as being very sweet in temperament, and is a great favorite with both Tantris and Rolan.
