Leonard B. Sand was a federal district judge based in New York City. Sand adjudicated the trial of four suspects believed to have bombed U.S. embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The case was held in the same Manhattan courtroom where defendants in the 1993 World Trade Center attack were convicted years prior.
