The Waro were humanoid, but only the size of a human child. They were light and slender, which allowed them to fly with artificial wings. They had grey skin, sharp fangs, long ears and pointed features. They had yellowish-green blood and a very nasty odour. Though not especially strong, they could survive a large amount of damage. The Waro were incapable of speaking, though they would hiss and growl. They could survive in the vacuum of space, as well as on planets with atmospheres.
