Rat in Hand is a strange game of chance invented by Hoggwell Hogg of Port Blacksand. Players bet on the number of starving Sewer-Rats they think they can hold in his or her hand for three minutes. The record is eight, although the Troll who set the record lost his hand when trying to better it. The game lent its name to Hoggwell Hogg's drinking establishment, The Rat in Hand tavern.
