The Higa Metar were a sect of the Bajoran Resistance. Surmak Ren and Dekon Elig were once members. In early 2356, Surmek Ren was arrested by the Cardassians after informants in the sect revealed his secret membership in the Kohn-Ma and claimed he was responsible for several disruptive acts committed by that sect. (DS9: "Babel") According to the script, this sect's name was pronounced as "HIGH-guh MET-ar". [1]
