Charles Lawson was born 17th September, 1959 in Belfast. He is an Irish actor who played Jim McDonald in Coronation Street, Bill McQueen in Doctors and also appeared in Bread, Boon, The Bill, Crown Court, Dalziel and Pascoe, Wilt, In Deep, Casualty, Holby City, and Rosemary & Thyme. His past stage work includes roles for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. Charles Lawson now runs a farm shop, and has said he would return to Coronation Street whenever there are good storylines, but has admitted to the show not being the same and getting tired of the role.
