USS Artemis was a starship in service to Starfleet in the mid 23rd century, named for the historical figure Artemis. In 2253, the Artemis was under the command of Captain Daniels, with Lieutenant junior grade Spock as his third officer and science officer. That year, Spock left the Artemis, having been promoted to lieutenant and reassigned to the USS Enterprise as chief science officer and second officer. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Glory)
