The Boogieman returns and starts scaring Tommy Newkirk and other children in a plan to have revenge against Egon Spengler. The Ghostbusters find out that when they recaptured Samhain, one ghost was not restored to the Containment Unit. As it so happens, the Boogieman was the one and after his escape, he used the fear caused by Samhain's minions to become strong enough to return to his realm. After they end up in the Boogieman's realm, Egon learns the one weakness of the Boogieman- He was still in his non-corporeal form. At that instant, the Boogieman was recaptured and restored to the Containment Unit.
