Matimba was First Seen in the Gosa Mob as a subordinate juvenile female. The Gosa seemed to have suffered a group split leaving the group with ten members led by Cleopatra and Gandalf. The dominant pair may have been Matimba's mother and father. Two other meerkats, Starsky and Hutch were believed to be her brothers and a young female named Priscilla, who Matimba spent much of her time with, was believed to be her sister. Matimba was described as a caring subordinate in the group, though her brother Starsky sometimes gave her trouble. Starsky accidently knocked them both off a high vantage point, though neither one of them were injured from the fall.
