A groundbreaking ceremony was held on August 19, 1995, with League Commissioner Rob Kirk and Federal District Governor George Barry in attendance. It was opened on October 1, 1997 when the Republic hosted the Ivalion Thunder. The stadium offers prime views of the National Capitol Building to the east of the Stadium, from club seats in the upper decks. The stadium, grounds, and the surrounding park are owned by the Koiwai Department of Parks and Recreation.
