The commercial version of the "J-VX" concept car presented at the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show appeared as the "INSIGHT" 2 years later in November 1999. What Honda created was not just an Eco car; they aimed to create a hybrid car that was both agile and useful. It was a sporty hybrid very much in tune with the character of a Honda, but in July of 2006, its production was unfortunately ceased. However in January 2009, the INSIGHT made a comeback. The revived 2nd generation model was now made to be a 4-door sedan, but it is still not just your ordinary Eco car.
