Barbara Buono is a state senator from New Jersey who is challenging Chris Christie for governor. She's really awesome because she's a progressive who will actually try to fix New Jersey. Among the laws she's sponsored are an anti-bullying bill, an education reform bill, and a bill for paid leave for families. She is a consumer advocate, unlike Chris Christie, who is a rich people advocate. In an extremely embarrassing moment for the entire state of New Jersey, Buono lost in a landslide, with only 38% of New Jerseyans being sane enough to vote for her.
