Following another defeated Badnik invasion, Doctor Ivo Robotnik announced that he wished to make a truce with Sonic the Hedgehog, beginning with a meeting on Sky High Peak. Sonic agreed, with the pair convening the next morning. Once there, Robotnik agreed to stop attempting to take over the planet in exchange for control over one Zone. Sonic refused, prompting Robotnik to reveal that his presence was actually by means of a hologram. Worse still, he was able to activate a Plasma Ray Cannon that destroyed the top of the mountain and, seemingly, Sonic. However, Sonic soon showed that he was also a hologram, beamed in from Tekno's Workshop. With much of Sky High Peak destroyed and nothing gained, both holograms were deactivated.
