The Charger-class escort carrier was a class of light escort aircraft carriers used by the United States Navy. The class was also used by the British Royal Navy, but was known as the Avenger-class escort carrier. They were built from C-3 merchant ships and were given to the Royal Navy as part of a military aid. However, only three carriers made it and the last one was kept by the US Navy.
