Anakin Skywalker, later known as Darth Vader, was a Jedi Knight who fell and became a Lord of the Sith. He was the Chosen One, though he was killed by Galen Marek, his secret apprentice, before he could fulfill his destiny. Born a slave he would eventually become a hero of the Galactic Republic and, after the Republic's transformation into the Galactic Empire, Emperor Palpatine's chief enforcer. He secretly planned to overthrow the Emperor, and to this end trained an apprentice, Galen Marek. However, Marek would eventually prove superior to Vader and would kill him, taking his place at Palpatine's side.
