The shuttles had very few passengers before they were discontinued in the late-1970s, traveling up Sage Ave. to Boston Ave., then either up Success Ave. to near Broadbridge Ave., or up Clover St. to Canaan Rd., Broadbridge Ave., North Ave., and Nichols Ave. to Hawley Lane. "BARNUM-STATE" ran as often as every 10 minutes, with half its bus fleet being old and short General Motors 36-seaters almost always filled tightly with up to 50 passengers. It should also be noted that service territory was exceptionally shared with CR & L Lines along Barnum Ave., Fairfield Ave., and State St.
