Melanie Garrett is a character in DEXTER. She was a single woman who was assaulted by a man named Ray Speltzer. She worked at a bar that Ray frequented and he eventually asks her over to his place. She went to Ray's house, where he dragged her into his Minotaur Maze and chased her through it, proceeding to beat her to death. Ray Speltzer then ripped off one of her earrings as a trophy. When Lieutenant Debra Morgan tried to save Melanie, she too was captured by Speltzer and would've been killed if it wasn't for the interference of Dexter Morgan.
