Ask Palpatine began when Mr. Hogg decided to make a series to tell everyone Palpatine was not a bad guy. After planning a number of episodes, it became the second series of HoggWorks, the first one being dotBoom. It usually started with Palpatine saying something random before the show. Next came the questions, which Palpatine would answer with comments he found humorous. Each time he finished an answer, he would reply by saying, "I know you're satisfied with my answer. I have seen it." At that point, he would sing a song that viewers requested.
