Carrick Knowe is a suburb in the West of Edinburgh in Scotland, located approximately 3 miles from the city centre. It is bordered by the A8 to the North, railway line to the South, golf course to the East, and Ladywell Avenue to the West. Carrick Knowe was built from the late 1940s onwards, with a mix between council tenants and owner-occupiers. The rise in tenants exercising their Right to buy has mean that relatively few council tenants remain.
