The Exaggerated Super Pitfall Death Trap, or simply put, the "Beginner's Trap," is a spot in the game Super Pitfall, at the beginning of the game, where the player climbs down a ladder and into a flying enemy, while there also being spikes at the bottom. While the Nerd commented on the situation, he suddenly states his disappointment, and jokingly elaborates on the cheap trick, taking the trap and adding lava, with lava sharks, closing spike walls, lasers, and upside-down volcanoes, while also removing the ladder.
