Vincent Hanlan was a former Medical Examiner in training who was responsible for the death of Navy Lieutenant, Sylvia Waksal, having done so after learning that he was impotent. Thanks to Donald Mallard testifying in his case against Hanlan, Vincent was found guilty of killing her and was sentenced to eight years in jail for his crimes. In that time, during Vincent's imprisonment, the funeral home his family owned and even worked went under presumably due to a lack of business with their own reputation as well as that of Vincent's being left forever disgraced as a result of the conviction.
