The Mermaid is equipped with a stealth field that counters enemy sonar and radar. It also has a Anti-Torpedo Flare for defense. It is useful when manoeuvring naval forces, or amphibious forces along the sea-floor without an opponent noticing. The use of Stealth can easily allow a Cybran player a great advantage when done correctly, and the Mermaid is often one of those units enabling this. The Mermaid follows the standard Cybran protocol of mobile intel rather than mobile shields; the Cybran have no direct equivalent to the new UEF shield ship.
