Igaine held the position for forty-four years until her death in 520 NE. She was Cerilla Marodred's successor and Beryl Marle's predecessor. Igaine was an Amyrlin of average strength and influence. She was chosen in large part because she would lead the White Tower away from the open involvement in the world's affairs that her four predecessor had espoused. Around 500 NE, during Igaine's reign, the last traces of the Caralain nation vanished.
