Phanus was one of the sons of wine-god Dionysos and Ariadne. His brothers include Oenopion ("wine drinker"), Thoas, Peparethus, Phanus and Euanthes ("the richly blooming"). Both Phanus & Staphylus are counted among the Argonauts. Unlike his brother Staphylus, not much is known about what happened after his time as an Argonaut.
