Clermiston is a housing estate in Costorphine, west Edinburgh. Construction began on the low rise estate in 1954 to tackle overcrowding in Gorgie and Leith. There were 1900 council houses in 1989 although others ghad already been bought through the right to buy scheme. 20,000 people currently live in Clermiston. There are seven small tower blocks on Durar Drive: * Durar Drive I * Durar Drive II * Durar Drive III * Durar Drive IV * Durar Drive V * Durar Drive VI * Durar Drive VII
