Wands of Lightning can be used to discharge bolts of lightning, like the spell Lightning Bolt, which does also damage to allies if they cross path with the lightning bolt. The bolt does 6D6 points of damage, if a creature makes a save vs. wands, the damage is halved. This wand has a limited amount of charges and will be destroyed when it runs out. In the game of Baldur's Gate, this item is for sale at Sorcerous Sundries. In Baldur's Gate II it is dropped by the lich in the Crooked Crane Inn and by one of the thralls in the Planar Prison.
